Due to the purchase of the Hotel,
The name of the Hotel is now "COUNTRY HEARTH
INN" The signs have
already been changed and you will need to look for the "COUNTRY HEARTH INN" not
Amerihost Inn. All accommodations and special pricing for the Convoy are
still in effect. The only change is in the name.

The Fifth Annual WWII MV Convoy
through the
Missouri Wine Country.
This year’s theme is “The Road
to
Paris,”
and the event includes a stop in
Paris,
MO.
The 2007 WWII MV Convoy will
take place from 18-19 May 2007. This year the starting
point has shifted to a new location,
Mexico,
MO. The Audrain County Historical Society will be hosting
us this year, with many planned
activities over the weekend. We expect this new starting
site to provide some variation to the event,
as well as provide a fresh look to the event. Their

This year’s event will take us
around
Mark
Twain
Lake to the north,
with planned stops at the following locations:
Event Activities:
The event will include a lunch and dinner on Saturday,
the drive day. The lunch will be served at the South
Spillway of Cannon Dam at
Mark
Twain
Lake,
and dinner at the Audrain County Historical Society. We
are also working on having a dance on Saturday night.
Friday will include the reception at the Historical Society and perhaps some
philanthropic trips in
Mexico on Friday.

Tickets are $5 or FREE if
dressed in
Authentic WWII attire
Hotels: We are working with
hotels to get discount rates.

Hotel rates for the 2007 Convoy:
We have reserved rooms at the
Amerihost
in Mexico, MO. Reserve your room under the name "WWII convoy" in order
to get the proper discount. We are getting the rooms at $55 per night for
either kings or two double beds. These rooms are available for the nights of
17-19 May. The cut off date for the $55 rate is 10 May, so make your
reservations prior to then.
Camping:
There is plenty of land to camp at the historical society.
Meals:
We are working with reputable caterers for both lunch and dinner.
The dinner selection will likely be steaks by the same caterer as last
year.
Cost of the Event:
We are still working the cost,
and it will be fixed by the time of the event. The event
fee will include event costs, lunch
and dinner, and admittance to the
Mark Twain Shrine. Refreshments may be available at the
different stops at an additional cost or donation.
T-Shirts:
Lee Bishop is again designing a T-Shirt for us. The tentative design
has a MO directing vehicles with a
Paris road sign in the background.
The cost will be announced by the time registration opens.
